  • December 28th : Search dogs Abbie and Dodge called to assist CVSRT with a search on Ilkley Moor  for a 66yr old male. Stood down after searches were completed. Nothing found.
  • December 17th: Search dog Abbie called to assist HVMRT with a search for a 79 yr old in Outwood Nr Wakefield. Found an 12.00 by dog walkers, alive but Hypothermic.
  • December 2nd: Continuation of previous day’s incident giving further assistance to YAS at various locations. Stood down at 19:45 hours.
  • December 1st: Called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with the evacuation of stranded motorists on A57 between Anston and Worksop. With over 150 people needing help to reach safe shelter in South Anston assistance was called from EMRT and CVSRT. BBC News
  • December 1st: Called to assist with the treatment and evacuation of a 60yr old woman in Penistone who has sustained a fractured wrist. Treated and evacuted to Fire Station for onward transport to Hospital.
  • November 3rd: Search dogs Abbie & Dodge called to assist KMRT  in a search for two walkers (age 58 and 68) who were exhausted and cold after spending an unplanned night on the edge path on Kinder. Both dogs were stood down before being deployed as fortunately a Pennine Helicopters aircraft,operating in the area, was contacted and was able to land and evacuate the two casualties. Both gentlemen were then escorted to Hayfield where they were re-warmed and able to depart home without medical assistance.
  • October 31st: Team asked to assist GMRT in the evacuation of a 60yr old woman who had sustained a lower leg injury above Blackden Moor on the northern edge of Kinder Scout. She was taken to the roadhead and transferred to County Ambulance.
  • 16th October: Team search dogs put on standby to search for an overdue Duke of Edinburgh group. The group made their own way to Rowlee Farm safe and well, just a little later than expected! Stood down on route
  • 15th October: Team search dogs put on standby to search for a male overdue from a days walk on Kinder Scout, found by Edale team land rover crew as information was being collated.  Stood down on route
  • October 4th Team called to assist BMRT and others in search for a missing canoeist in the River Dane South of Buxton. Our swift water rescue personnel were dispatched but stood down on route after the person was found deceased by the fire service.
  • September 18th Search dogs Dodge and Abbie called to assist KMRT in search for a member of a stag party who had decided to go for a run at 01.00!! The runner injured his ankle and limped into Edale, then returned to find his friends had gone to Call Mountain Rescue.
  • September 9th Search Dog Abbie and Ken called to assist OMRT with search for missing 8 year old boy. Found by foot party.
  • September 5th Team called to assist GMRT with evacuation of female fell runner from Glossop Low who had sustained ankle and wrist injury. Trainees who were in the area at the time were diverted to the scene and gave immediate assistance.view newspaper article »
  • September 4th/5th Search dog Abbie & Ken called to assist EMRT in search for missing long distance walker on Kinder. Found at 03.30 by foot party.
  • August 26th Team recalled to Linacre woods to assist Police and other PDMRO Teams to surch further areas for the misssing man. Nothing Found.
  • August 20th Team called to to assist EMRT with a search for a missing male in the Linacre Woods area near Chesterfield, which had started Thursday evening. Buxton &  Derby teams also involved. Nothing found.
  • August 18th Team Search Dog called to Calverley to assist CVMRT with search for 89 yr old Alzheimer’s patient missing from home. Found deceased by foot party.
  • August 16thWe were asked to assist with a search for a missing 56 year old woman in the Goyt Valley. The search had started in the early hours of Monday morning and involved Buxton, Derby, Kinder and Glossop Teams plus 5 search dogs.  We joined the operation at 18.00 hrs and found the lady alive but semi conscious in a woodland clearing at 20.55 hrs. She was evacuated to the road and transferred to hospital by ambulance. Over 100 MRT personnel were involved in the search over a period of 20 hrs.
  • August 4th Team called to assist Edale and Glossop MRT’s to search for missing 36 yr old male who’s car had been found at ladybower. He had been missing since Saturday. 58 personnel from three teams +SARDA & air support searched for 8 1/2 hrs but nothing found.
  • July 27th Team Search Dog called out to look for 13yr old youth absconded from Care home in Chesterfield. Found alive outside search area, and stood down on route.
  • July 25th Team Search dogs called to assist OMRT with search for a missing person in the Oldham area. Stood down on route.
  • July 23rd Team Search dogs called to help HVMRT with search for missing 79 yr old woman in the Armitage Bridge area of Huddersfield. Stood own on route.
  • July 17th Search dog handler Wayne and Navigator Pete, were called to assist Scarborough and Rydale SRT to search for despondent  48 yr old male near the old RAF Riccall base. Found on a track by SRSRT at 06.00.
  • July 14th Team asked to assist the Police in locating a WW2 shell found by a member of the public the previous day near Margery Hill. The shell was found after a short search and MOD bomb disposal personnel took it away. view newspaper article »
  • July 4thTeam Member, whilst covering the Yorkshire 3 peaks charity event, treated a 38yr old female for a groin injury, hypothermia, and stabilised her until CRO/UWFRA arrived to evacuate.
  • July 2nd Two 60yr old walkers Missing and exhausted near the top of Far Black Clough, were located in woods in Near Black Clough, and evacuated back to the road. GMRT & SARDA also involved.
  • June 16th Team doctor, whilst out climbing at Stanage, dealt with a seriously injured climber, stabilised at scene until Edale and Buxton teams arrived to evacuate to air Ambulance.
  • June 2ndSearch dogs put on standby to assist with shooting  in Cumbria, stood down before being deployed
  • May 27th Asked to assist Police with search for a 27yr old vulnerable male, Loxley area, stood down when found by Police dog.
  • May 22nd Called to Langsett to treat and evacuate mountain biker from 1.5 km up Cut Gate track. Biker had fallen off bike landing heavily and injuring his ankle.
  • May 8th Search Dog Dodge called to assist Edale with search for a 24 yr old despondent male at Linacre Woods Chesterfield, found by search dog Megan suffering from effects of drugs he was on.
  • May 2ndCalled to assist a walker whwo had sustained a broken leg above Crowden. Stood down when Air Ambulance evacuated him with the assistnce of OMRT.
  • May 1st Team called to search for three D of E participants reported lost whilst walking the Pennine Way in the Wessenden Head area. We eventually managed to talk to them on their  mobile, at which point we discovered that they were in the opposite direction to the one we’d been given by their support crew. We re-focused our search and they were found a short while later in Rimmen Pit Clough by Search dog Dodge and evacuated with assistance from OMRT.
  • April 25th Team Member out walking over Cut Gate, came across 63 yr old Mountain Biker looking very poorly. Because of his significant medical history, we sent a small party with de-fib and medical equipment to provide immediate medical care in case his condition worsened, and escorted him to Iron Gate.
  • April 24th Whilst on exercise with the RAF, we were asked to re-task the aircraft to Fairholmes where a woman had suffered a medical trauma after falling 50 ft down a bank. Land Ambulance took over the job.
  • April 22ndLady took a wrong turn during a walk in the Derwent Valley andgot lost. Team called to search the northern area but the woman was found shortly afterwards by EMRT.
  • April 15th 02-00Search for a 16yr old girl missing at Worsborough Park, Edale and SARDA also involved. Located after 3 hours of searching. view newspaper article »
  • April 3rdSearch for a 17 year old who had become lost on Bleaklow while walking from Edale to Crowden. The search controllers were able to pinpoint his position when the young man was overflown by the police helicopter. A section from the team was sent to escort him from John Track Well 3km to Crowden Youth Hostel. Also Glossop and SARDA. view newspaper article »
  • April 2nd Search Dog Dodge called to search the Madwoman Stones area of Kinder Scout for 2 walkers who were lost in inclement weather with poor visibility and struggling to make progress in deep lying snow. The weather cleared at 1700 and everyone was stood down when the couple reported that they could see farm buildings below and made their own way off the hill.
  • March 27thCalled to assist Glossop team with the extraction of a mans body located by a walker near to Rakes Rocks at Crowden.
  • March 27thSearch Dog Dodge called to assist Derby & Buxton in ongoing search for a missing male in the Fegg Hayes area.
  • March 21stEdale skyline fell race, provided initial medical assessment and treatment, then assisted Edale team with evacuating a competitor
  • March 13th 6 peak district dog handlers and4 teams carried out a search of the area around Torside and Crowden. A 51 year old man from Manchester had been reported missing at the endof January. New information had led the police to ask for mountain rescue assistance a week after the bulk of snow had thawed. Nothing has yet been found – police enquiries are ongoing.
  • March 12th Search dogs Abbi and Dodge called to help Calder Valley SRT in a search of Woodland and Moorland around Ogden Reservoir, Halifax for a 48 year old despondent man.
  • Feb 18th Search for a 75year Dementia sufferer in the Concorde Park area of Sheffield. Located by a SARDA Dog Team cold and wet after falling down a gully and being out in sleet and snow for several hours. Edale and SARDA also involved. view newspaper article »

  • Jan 5th 16-30 Called by Yorkshire ambulance to carry a women to her home as ambulance could only get along main road.
  • Jan 5th 10-30 Team called to assist with ambulance cover for NW Ambulance Service
  • Jan 3rd Called to assist with car that had overturned and gone into a ravine in bad weather.
