Yesterday’s second callout of the day came at 20:25hrs to assist Yorkshire Ambulance Service in the Mexborough area.
An elderly gentleman whilst out walking collapsed with suspected heart problems. With the casualty being over 600m from the nearest road, the gentleman was packaged ready for a stretcher carry back to the road head and the waiting ambulance.
All team members followed our Covid-19 protocol for treating and extracting casualties, this also involves after the job is complete, a lengthy process of decontamination of all team members, personnel kit and all of our mountain rescue equipment so it’s clean, safe and ready for use on our next job.
