[WMRT] Woodhead MRT recieve letter of thanks from South Yorkshire Police.

A big part of mountain rescue is helping the police look for vulnerable missing people, this could be in housing estates and farmland to rivers and shrubland.

On the 24th of September, South Yorkshire Police contacted Woodhead MRT to help with an ongoing search for a gentleman that had been missing for some time, the gentleman was found safe and well and reunited with his family.

Recently we received this lovely letter of thanks from South Yorkshire Police for our assistance that day.

Team members will always try their best to respond to callouts, often leaving family and commitments to help others that they have never met before, once the job is complete, they’ll go home, back to work or whatever they may have been doing at the time, and continue as normal.
To receive this letter of thanks and recognition from the police, really does mean a lot to team members and is very much appreciated.
