Every incident the team attends is logged here. Most come from Yorkshire Ambulance Service and South Yorkshire Police, and many are in woods and country parks close to town rather than on the open moor.
We never publish personal details, and the maps show the general area only. Figures are taken from our incident records; volunteer hours are the combined time of everyone who attended.
Since the start of 2021 we have been called out more than 450 times. The places we’re called most are Greno Woods and Wharncliffe Woods on the edge of Sheffield, Langsett and Cut Gate, the Black Cloughs above the Woodhead Pass, and Holme Moss and Black Hill. Walkers and mountain bikers make up most of the people we help, and searches for missing people make up much of the rest. See a map of the area on our area, and read our safety advice before you head out.
