A busy day for the team today, Sunday the 31st Jan with two callouts in quick succession.
The first callout came in at 11:44hrs to assist Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust at Holly Hall near Stocksbridge. A 67-year-old female had taken a fall sustaining a left lower leg injury.
Team members applied a splint to the injury before packaging the casualty for the stretcher carry back to the road head and the waiting ambulance.
The second callout came in at 13:08hrs just as team members were returning to base.
A 30-year-old female had taken a nasty fall from her horse in Bolsterstone sustaining multiple injuries including a suspected fracture dislocation of the ladys shoulder, spinal pain and possible rib injuries.
Given the nature of the casualties injuries, a request was made for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to attend to make sure the lady was in definitive care as soon as possible. The lady was immobilized inside a vacuum mattress to protect her injuries and prepared for the stretcher carry to air ambulance.
Team members returned to base to start the decontamination process of kit.
