Whilst out on a search exercise near Margery Hill, one of our
Team Members spotted an unexploded WW2 shell which looked as though it might
contain explosive. We called the police and the MOD, who accompanied us to the
incident site where the shell was detonated safely by the MOD. If you see
anything like this on the moors, please do not touch it. Make a note of the
location and call the police.
This incident involved 7 team members, and 60.2 man hours of effort. Elapsed time 8.6 hours.
